Day 01: Mumbai - Sindhudurg

The Epic Journey begins from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai which itself is world heritage site. Once the boarding formalities have been complete, wine and dine in the luxurious comforts of this train and whistle off on your royal voyage.


Day 02: Arrive - Sindhudurg

Morning alights at the Sindhudurg Nagari Railway station.

On arrival at railway station you wuill be picked up by the Ac Coach which drive to your Malvan Jetty from here you take a boat to reach the sea fort. Sea Fort built by Maratha King Shivaji in 1664 - 67, is the best preserved fort today. The fort houses many temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses along with some hindu & muslim familes.

Return to jetty and proceed to Tarkarli beach resort.

We will then return to Malvan Jetty and from there we will proceed to Tarkarli Beach. One of most beautiful beaches comprises of tiny Islands, the hamlets on the riverbank and the beautiful boats.

Lunch at the well-appointed MTDC hotel & resort.


Day 02: Tarkarli Virgin Beach

Enjoy a relaxed lunch at the well-appointed MTDC beach resort. The resort offers all modern facilities and is the best place to enjoy Malvani cuisine and relax.

Later visit a cashew nut factory and some temples located in the vicinity.
Depart for Kudal Railway Station. Dinner on board.


Day 03: Goa

At the sunrise we arrive into Goa, one of the most popular beach destinations in India.

We will board the bus to reach Old Goa to see remains of St. Augustine Church once which was once the largest cathedral in Goa. After that we will visit various other churches like St Francis Xavier and the Ctahedral. Later visit Fontanhas, the Latin quarters at Panjim and centuries old Portuguese Style Houses.

The Goan lunch will be served on board the train atVerna Railway station.Departure to Verna Railway Station for typical Spend the afternoon at leisure and then in the evening proceed to a beach hotel which you can enjoy traditional dinner along with the cultural folk entertainment.

Return to train for overnight.


Day 04: Goa

After breakfast city sightseeing of Goa visiting some of the famous temples and mosques. Later drive to Sahakari Spice Farm, the largest in the country, in Ponda Village.

Visitors are accorded a traditional welcome at the gate of the spice Famr and the escorted to the restaurant where local drink is served as welcome drink. Then we explore the spice farm with naturalist. The farm grows many types of herbs and medicinal plants.

After the tour is completed a typical Goan lunch served in the restaurant. Post lunch we proceed to visit Braganza Mansion, the last remaining structure of pre Portuguese Era built around 16 century. The architecture and the interiors of the heritage house take you back into the history. The Braganza family lived in the mansion for more than 4 centuries.

We then drive to Madgaon Railway Station to board the train for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 05: Kolhapur

We arrive Kolhapur in the morning, the city located on the bank of river Panchaganga and a mix of cultures, customs, nature and history. The city was ruled by various rulers from time to time.

The museum which houses many artifacts and paintings of the royal family was once the royal palace. The museum also houses Royal weapons and a series of paintings depicting court life. We will then visit The town hall where antiques from Brahmagiri excavations have been displayed. Then we move on to visit various temples and other important places before enjoying shopping for Kolhapuri Saris, Chappals (Slippers), and jewellery. Kolhapur is famous for cotton textile and leather works.

We will then proceed to board the train at Kolhapur station for dinner and Overngiht stay.


Day 06: Aurangabad - Ajanta

Today we reach at Daulatabad station.

After breakfast we leave the train to visit Majestic fort of Daulatabad. The fort was built by the Yadava rulers and was called Devgiri, but later in 13 Century Muhammad Bin Tughlak conquered it and renamed it as Daulatabad and made it his capital.

We then move on to Ellora Caves, a world heritage site famous for Buddhist, Jainism, Hinduism caves. The 34 cave temples and monasteries excavated out of the vertical face of an escarpment and contain Buddhist Chaityas or Viharas and, halls of worship or monasteries, Jain and Hindu temples.

After lunch we move on to Aurangabad, the city built by Aurangzeb with scores of monuments, Buddhist Caves and tombs.

At Aurangabad we will visit some of the most popular spots like Bibi-ka-Maqbara, a replica of Taj Mahal, which is a grand piece of Moghul architecture. Evening free time to explore the markets and streets for shopping.

Day 07: Ajanta - Nashik

On arrival at Jalgaon railway station in the morning board your bus to Ajanta caves.

A world heritage site, Ajanta is very famous for Buddhist caves and temples with some very fine paintings and sculptures from second century AD.

On arrival at Nashik proceed to visit the Panchwati Ghat, a place known for Kumbh Mela and a temple. We will then again board the train from Deolali railway station for farewell dinner and overnight on train.


Day 08: Nashik - Mumbai

On arrival at CST railway station at Mumbai in the morning depart for your onward journey with fond memories.
